There is a good chance that Chris Ivory will be leaving the New York Jets after having a fine campaign in 2015, posting over 1,000 yards for the first time in his career. Should Ivory leave for bigger money elsewhere, a cheaper and perhaps more productive option could be Forte.

New York does not have a great quarterback situation, although Ryan Fitzpatrick did lead the team to a 10-6 record last season. It would be wise to give him as much help as possible, something that includes another weapon out of the backfield. While Brandon Marshall and Eric Decker are one of the elite receiver tandems, the loss of Ivory would allow teams to focus solely on the pass game.

Should general manager Mike Maccagnan bring in Forte, that would once again provide Fitzpatrick with the dual threat. Forte would be able to give New York 15-20 carries per game and catch some passes in the flat and over the middle, helping to move the chains and draw the linebackers up. If the money works, it is a great fit.
