5. San Antonio Spurs

Even though the “big three” (Tim Duncan, Tony Parker, Maun Ginobili) are banged up, the San Antonio Spurs are still crushing opponents thanks to incredibly productive seasons from Kawhi Leonard and LaMarcus Aldridge. If the Spurs continue at their current pace and are able to get healthy you can pencil them in for a Western Conference showdown against the Golden State Warriors. There is always room for improvement, though, and Kobe Bryant could provide a boost.

San Antonio is pretty deep at the shooting guard position, which features the likes of Danny Green, Manu Ginobili and Jonathan Simmons. However the coaching style and system of Greg Popovich allows for increased playing time for everyone on the roster. Kobe could start over Green, fill the void for a hurt Ginobili, or play as a forward in a smaller lineup. The Spurs are currently the most respected team in the league, so it would be easier for Kobe to accept a smaller role in return for a chance at an NBA Championship. Kyle Anderson’s youth and athleticism would be a good fit for the Lakers rebuilding efforts; a straight swap of Kobe Bryant for Kyle Anderson would make sense for both teams.
