A Podcast To Be Named Later: 2016 Dunk Contest reactions
By Ian Levy
The 2016 dunk contest made the night. All-Star Saturday isn’t consistently great, but when it is there isn’t much that’ll top it, and can sometimes be better than the main event on Sunday. Tonight was one of those nights.
On A Podcast To Be Named Later, we discuss all of Saturday night starting off with the skills competition. Is it okay that they can not make any of the passes and move on to the next event? For a skills competition there certainly wasn’t much skill.
Next is the 3-point competition which is usually the most consistent event. There’s always a bit of drama, and this year the splash bros stole the show. Also, what was James Harden thinking putting his money ball rack so late in the tiebreaker round?
The event of the night however is always the dunk contest, and this year it did not disappoint. It initially appeared that Zach Lavine would steal the show again, but then Aaron Gordon took him down to the wire in what may have been the best dunk contest ever. Gordon had dunk of the night, but still didn’t win, was he robbed? All that and more.
