Danny Welbeck scored at the last possible second to beat Leicester City and give Arsenal a massive three points on Sunday.

In one of the most important matches of the 2015/2016 Premier League season, Arsenal hosted Leicester City at the Emirates on Sunday. The home side were desperate for a win, coming into the match sitting in third place with 48 points. They sat behind both Leicester City and Tottenham Hotspur, while they were just one point ahead of Manchester City in fourth.

A loss to Leicester City would have likely put the Premier League title beyond reach for the Gunners, and fans across the globe began panicking when Nacho Monriel took down Jamie Vardy inside the box just before the break. Referee, Martin Atkinson, pointed straight to the spot and Vardy converted the ensuing penalty kick in the 45th minute.

The tables would drastically change in the second half though, when the visitors went down to 10 men. Danny Simpson was shown two yellow cards within five minutes and was sent off the pitch in the 54th minute. With the man advantage, Arsenal took full control of the game and Theo Walcott put his side on level terms in the 70th minute.

The home side weren’t looking to settle for a draw though, and wanted all three points against the league leaders. After being out for 10 months following a knee operation, Danny Welbeck made his return to the pitch in the 83rd minute, replacing Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain. The Englishman made an immediate impact for his side, and scored in the fifth minute of stoppage time to give his team their most important win of the season.

The victory put Arsenal in second place, just two points behind Leicester City for top spot.
