NBA trade rumors: Bulls aggressively shopping Pau Gasol
The Chicago Bulls are reportedly shopping Pau Gasol to the rest of the league.
The NBA trading deadline is on Thursday at 3 p.m. EST, and the Chicago Bulls are reportedly looking to make a serious move. Power forward Pau Gasol is likely to leave the Bulls this offseason with a player option that won’t be nearly as lucrative as a new deal. In that vein, Chicago is hoping to get some value for the 35-year-old big man, per Adrian Wojnarowski of The Vertical.
Gasol would be a nice chip for a contending team, considering he does not cost a ton and is likely to be off the books after this season. With the Golden State Warriors and San Antonio Spurs looking like runaway favorites to win the championship this year, why not add Gasol if you are any other contender? He would provide a veteran presence and he can still play, scoring 17.0 points and grabbing 10.9 rebounds per year.
Who would fit the bill? The Cleveland Cavaliers have been actively looking to improve, as have the Miami Heat? Could either one of these teams get directly involved or be part of a three-team deal that has Gasol going elsewhere? It remains to be seen, but the action is soon to be hot and heavy around the league.
