The Jazz and Rockets have reportedly all but completed a swap of Ty Lawson and Trey Burke
The Utah Jazz have reportedly had point guard Trey Burke on the trade block for quite some time leading up to the 2016 NBA Trade Deadline. There have been several teams reaching out to the Jazz about such a deal, but the favorite right now to trade for Burke is actually the Houston Rockets in a deal that would send Ty Lawson to Utah.
According to Marc Stein of ESPN, Utah is “poised” to complete the trade with Houston that would ultimately be a swap of Burke and Lawson:
Growing sense around the league is that the Jazz are poised to go through with the Ty Lawson deal with the Rockets

However, the interesting wrinkle is that the Jazz are reportedly holding off on pushing such a deal through to see if any other offers happen to come in for Burke. In essence, they are waiting on a potentially better offer than Lawson before they make a final decision:
Ty Lawson talks are serious and Jazz have committed to ship out Trey Burke ... 12 hours and change left for someone to trump Houston's offer

Considering what was being said about Lawson coming into the 2015-16 season, it’s kind of incredible how far his value has dropped. That the Jazz think that they could potentially get a better offer from another team for Trey Burke is quite incredible.
However, it’s highly doubtful that a better offer is going to come the Jazz’s way before 3 p.m. ET on Thursday. Given that, it’s safe to say that fans can go ahead and consider the Lawson for Burke swap a done deal.
