Chicago Bulls

You have to wonder what the 2016 NBA Trade Deadline would have looked like if the Chicago Bulls had any kind of healthy roster to work with. At that point, you’d have to think that they would’ve been more likely to move one of their many frontcourt players. Even though Pau Gasol was being talked about as someone who could possibly be on the move, they ultimately only elected to make some minor trades.

The only move that the Bulls wound up making was a deal close to the buzzer that sent veteran guard Kirk Hinrich to the Hawks in exchange for Justin Holiday. To be frank, this deal really doesn’t move the needle all that much for the Bulls, but it does get them substantially younger and give them a bit of upside out of their backcourt. Outside of that, the Bulls elected to keep Gasol in Chicago and that was more the story than anything.

It’s definitely hard to get excited about anything that the Bulls did save for maybe keeping Pau in town. However, the Bulls could’ve stood to shake things up a little more. Given their injuries, though, this trade deadline seems like a concession that they don’t believe that they can.
