WWE announced that The Godfather will be rolling into WrestleMania as the newest member of the WWE Hall of Fame

WrestleMania 32 is at Cowboys Stadium on April 3rd. The night before, WWE will honor those who have contributed to professional wrestling with their Hall of Fame ceremony. This year, the WWE Hall of Fame will be in the American Airlines Center. Sting was the first person to be inducted to the Class of 2016. Now that the road to WrestleMania has begun, it’s time for more members to be announced.

WWE announced on Twitter that the latest member to be inducted would be The Godfather.

Charles White started in WWE as Papa Shango, a voodoo practitioner. We will call that a dark hole in his career. When that didn’t work, he came back repackaged as Kama, a MMA-inspired fighter. He later joined The Nation of Domination as Kama Mustafa with The Rock, D’Lo Brown and Ron Simmons, known then as Farooq. The Nation dominated WWE TV for quite some time. Mustafa got plenty of screen time due to this role, but was not the main star in the group. Charles also was involved in the short-lived Right to Censor group.

All of those gimmicks failed to live up to expectations for him, but The Godfather was the moneymaker. The Godfather was a gimmick perfect for the Attitude Era; controversial and powerful. He started bringing women into the ring, famously known as “The Godfather’s Hoes”. The Godfather’s style and presence was undeniably popular everywhere he went. Under the persona, he won the Intercontinental Title, and created countless memories throughout his time in WWE.

On a statement via WWE.com, the company had the following to say about The Godfather:

"“The Godfather’s unique persona and lovely ladies were a key ingredient in giving WWE, and the Attitude Era specifically, a very distinct flavor and feel. From his colorful outfits, to memorable theme song, entourage of gorgeous ladies and hard-hitting offense, The Godfather never failed to make an impression.”"

Charles White used what was given to him and made The Godfather into a legendary figure.

Get ready ladies and gentlemen, The Godfather and his friends will be “all aboard” his train to Texas as a WWE Hall of Famer. Maybe he will have some *surprise guests* for those in the audience.
