3. Washington Redskins

The Washington Redskins bounced back in 2015 and won a terrible NFC East. Despite the weakness of the conference, the Redskins showed tremendous growth as a football team and they showed tremendous physicality in their play.

While the team is trying to work out a contract with quarterback Kirk Cousins, there always exists the possibility that they might not be able to get something worked out with him if his demands are too high. Should Cousins want more than he is worth and find a new home elsewhere, the Redskins will be in some serious trouble.

If that’s the case, the team would be wise to take a look at Kaepernick. Jay Gruden did a good job last season coaching up Cousins to his potential and he might be able to do the same thing with Kaepernick. The NFC East remains winnable, depending on if the Dallas Cowboys are able to bounce back and the Redskins keep showing big signs of progress.

In Washington, Kaepernick would have some weapons around him, with the likes of Jordan Reed, Alfred Morris and Matt Jones. He would also be highly motivated to show that he can still be a great quarterback in the NFL. Cousins meanwhile has put together one good season and has a much smaller sample size.

If push comes to shove and the Redskins don’t meet his demands, they could look elsewhere.
