5) Seattle Seahawks

Seattle loves to have versatility on its defensive line, and the unit was at its best in 2013 when it had plenty of depth to cycle in and out, making Jackson a strong fit. The big question would be if the Seahawks would be willing to dish out such a big contract in free agency, something the team hasn’t done much under GM John Schneider.

It may not seem like the Seahawks need to spend any more money on their defense, but Jackson would fill a definitive need. Defensive tackles Ahtyba Rubin and Brandon Mebane are both aging free agents who are unlikely to return, meaning the Seahawks need to address the position this offseason.

Michael Bennett and Cliff Avril can’t do everything themselves on the defensive line, and Seattle’s pass rush disappeared at times in 2015. Lining Jackson up next to Bennett would give the Seahawks a dynamic and versatile defensive line that no opposing offense will want to see.

Offensive line is still the biggest need for Seattle, but it could spend early draft picks on that unit if it signs someone like Jackson. Defensive tackle may be the deepest position in this draft, so the Seahawks could still add another solid player there later on.

The Seahawks are currently projected to have about $23 million in available cap space. There’s room to work Jackson in there, although it would depend on what Seattle decides to with its own free agents such as Russell Okung.

Again, Schneider doesn’t give out many contracts like this, so Seattle certainly isn’t the most likely destination for Jackson. Still, Jackson is young enough to the point where he might consider it, and it be an understandable move for a team in win-now mode.
