DeAndre Jordan climbs ridiculously high to finish lob vs Kings (Video)
DeAndre Jordan rose up incredibly high to throw down a monster dunk off a lob against the Kings
The Los Angeles Clippers are somehow still winning games despite their run of unfortunate injury and the continued absence of Blake Griffin. While a big reason for that has been the play of Chris Paul, the unheralded hero in this run has been center DeAndre Jordan. When Jordan is throwing down lobs like the one he did against the Sacramento Kings on Friday night, though, it’s hard to ignore him.
After the Clippers had gone on a big run in the second half to take the lead from the Kings, they were rolling. At that point, Paul and DeAndre started working the pick-and-roll and Jordan rolled behind DeMarcus Cousins before rising up to just a ridiculous height to catch a lob from CP3 and throw it down for the one-handed jam:
DeAndre Jordan sometimes gets the short end of the stick when it comes to the Clippers and the public opinion of him and the team, largely because of things like his free throw shooting. However, he’s constantly reminding everyone of what a freak athlete he actually is with plays like this. Men his size shouldn’t be able to make plays with that kind of athleticism—there has to be a rule against it somewhere.
Yet he can and his prowess in the pick-and-roll with Paul and the way those two have been working together as a whole has the Clippers staying relevant in the Western Conference. Who knows how long it keeps up, but it’s been an impressive feat to this point.
