Could Myles Jack be in danger of dropping in the draft because of his surgically repaired knee?

One of the worst things that a player can have at the combine is an injury. Even top prospects have suffered from having ailments hold them back from showing coaches what they really have, and Myles Jack is the latest in a long line of players showing up injured to the combine.

According to Todd Archer of ESPN.com, NFL coaches have questions about the injury that has kept Jack from being able to participate at the combine.

"Cowboys have been linked to UCLA linebacker Myles Jack but there are some questions about his surgically repaired knee that will be answered by all teams after today’s medical tests at combine, according to a source."

This isn’t a report that Jack is going to take a drop in the draft due to his knee, but it’s a little disconcerting that his knee is still raising questions. Jack is hoping to be medically cleared for his March 15th Pro Day, but if that doesn’t happen then it might be detrimental to his stock.

In the end, this could just be a hiccup rather than a red flag, but Jack wouldn’t be the first top prospect to take a tumble in the draft because of injury concerns. Then again, it’s not all gloom and doom for Jack just because he’s showing up to the combine due to surgery.

Todd Gurley tore up his ACL at Georgia and entered the draft on a surgically repaired knee. That knee held up over the course of his rookie season to the point where he almost won Rookie of the Year. That’s the flip side of the coin for Jack, and might be what teams look at rather than the negativity that a linebacker coming off knee surgery entails.
