Doug McDermott: Fantasy Basketball Update

Doug McDermott is playing at a pretty high level for the Bulls right now. It is pretty hard to believe that McDermott is not owned in more leagues right now and I would think that if I were you I would be heading over to my league and make sure you are not floating around on your waiver wire.

In his past five games he is averaging 19 points three rebounds and two three-pointers. He does not bring a whole lot else to the table, but if you need points and three he should be able to help your team out quite a bit. McDermott has also hit a three-pointer in 14 of his last 16 games and will really help your team in that category if that is the type of league you play in.

He is a guy that I would pick up and also a guy I will be looking for in FanDuel leagues this coming week. If you are in a larger league you might have a hard time trading for him right now, but you might want to send out some offers. I see no reason that McDermott will slow down and think that your team will benefit from his presence.

If you play in keeper or dynasty leagues than McDermott is also a guy that you might want to target. I would probably not be looking at him in a shallow keeper league, but if you have a league that keeps a large amount of payers there is a chance he could be a keeper-worthy player.

McDermott has also been a very efficient free throw shooter despite not getting to the line much. If you are in a league where FT% is a category then McDermott could really provide a boost there. He is a great shooter and even though he doesn’t provide many other stats such as steals or assists just his scoring is putting him up there as a solid fantasy asset.

He should continue to be solid as long as Jimmy Butler is out, but I still think he is a worthy addition in dynasty leagues as this experience that he has gained could make him a stalwart on the wing for the Bulls in the future.
