After quite the long wait, the Fabulous Freebirds will take their place in the WWE Hall of Fame.

As WrestleMania draws closer, we’re learning who the inductees will be for the WWE Hall of Fame class this year. In recent years as inductees were announced, a lot of people were quick to point out that there was still a very glaring omission — The Fabulous Freeebirds.

Well, no one is going to make that accusation this year.

It was announced on Monday just a few hours before RAW that the infamous group will be taking their rightful place in the Hall of Fame after all these years of waiting for the call.

Now as you can see from the picture, they are indeed including Jimmy Garvin as well, which really is the right move. While he wasn’t an original member of the popular faction, he still played a pretty integral part at the end of their run in WCW.

For quite some time now, as people were bickering about the Freebirds not getting in, everyone always pointed to this year as being the year and they were indeed right. Really, when you think about it, there is no better place to induct the Freebirds into the Hall of Fame than the Dallas area because that is where they made their biggest mark on the industry. In WCCW, the ever-famous Von Erich boys always needed good villains to go against, and Michael Hayes, Terry Gordy and Buddy Jack Roberts provided that and then some. They were legit the most hated men in the state of Texas, doing their job to pure perfection.

With this accomplishment and so much more, now it’s perfect that they’ll forever be enshrined in the WWE Hall of Fame as part of the Class of 2016.
