Carmelo Anthony tells heckling fan to ask James Dolan for refund
New York Knicks superstar Carmelo Anthony told a heckling fan to ask owner James Dolan for a refund on Tuesday night.
Things are heading south in a hurry for the New York Knicks as they pile up losses. On Tuesday night, the Knicks added another loss to the record books, when they get rolled over by the emerging Portland Trail Blazers. As is the case with sports teams in New York, if a team is losing, the fans are going to handle it well.
Fans of the Knicks are no strangers to letting their team hear it, but on Tuesday night, one fan decided to heckle Carmelo Anthony. Not happy with the way that Anthony was playing, the fan continued to pour it on as the Knicks kept on struggling against Portland.
In fact, the fan was so unhappy with the Knicks, that Anthony told him to ask owner James Dolan for a refund, according to Ian Begley.
It’s a microcosm of wear the Knicks are heading right now. While they have two big pieces in Anthony and Kristaps Porzingis, the team is heading southward without many future assets to show for it.
It’s also probably not a very good look for the star player of the team to tell fans to ask the owner for a refund. Right now, the Knicks are not playing very good basketball. Their best bet is for Porzingis to keep developing and hope that another superstar will want to come play alongside him and Anthony in New York. Those are very big ifs right now.
