WWE and ECW alumnus Rhyno is running for office in the state of Michigan

In the heyday of ECW, one of the most recognizable wrestlers in the company was the Man Beast, Rhyno. During his time with ECW, he was a one-time ECW World Heavyweight Champion and two-time ECW World Television champ. After ECW was absorbed by WWF/E, Rhyno then won the WWF Hardcore title three times and the WCW United States Championship once as well. Now he’s looking to win as it pertains to public office in Michigan.

Rhyno, real name Terrance Gerin, announced via Twitter on Thursday that he is running for the Michigan House of Representatives for the Dearborn district of the state:

Just look at Rhyno dressed to the nines. He certainly looks Gore-geous when he’s running for office.

What’s crazy about the Man Beast’s decision to running for the Michigan House of Representatives, though, is that he’s not far removed from a brief run in NXT and WWE. In fact, he competed in an eight-man Extreme Rules match at the TLC pay-per-view in the middle of December.

Rhyno is by far the first pro wrestler turned politician, as crazy as that sounds. Rick Steiner served on the school board of Cherokee County, GA back in 2006 and, more famously, Jesse “The Body” Ventura was the governor of Minnesota from 1999-2003.

Who knows what Rhyno/Gerrin has in store for Michigan or the Dearborn district, but you can rest assured that we all know who the wrestling fans in the area will be casting their vote for.
