The SEC and Big Ten powers will meet in the iconic stadium during the opening weekend of the 2016 college football season.
When you take a look at the schedule for the opening weekend of the 2016 college football season, there are plenty of games that will keep fans glued to their televisions for the three-day weekend. One of the most highly anticipated matchups will take place in one of the most storied stadiums in all of professional sports.
On September 3rd, the LSU Tigers will head to the state of Wisconsin for a showdown with the Badgers. But the game will not be taking place inside of Camp Randell Stadium in Madison … instead, the two historic powers will be meeting at Lambeau Field, home of the NFL’s Green Bay Packers.
Thursday, the Packers released a hype video for the first college football game to be played at the stadium in over three decades:
"Coming soon to @LambeauField!https://t.co/3QrJA9xhca— Green Bay Packers (@packers) March 3, 2016"
The showdown between the Tigers and the Badgers is just one of the massive list of games that will take place during the opening weekend. Alabama will take on Southern Cal inside AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas in the marquee game, while other high profile games include Florida State-Ole Miss, Clemson-Auburn, Houston-Oklahoma, Arizona-BYU, Georgia-North Carolina and Notre Dame-Texas.
