The former Indianapolis Colts star is responding to comments from the outspoken former NFL receiver after this year’s Hall of Fame announcement.
The day before Super Bowl 50, the Pro Football Hall of Fame announced its class of inductees for the 2016 year. In that group was former Colts wide receiver Marvin Harrison, considered by many to be one of the best at his position over the last quarter century.
Not in that group was former NFL receiver Terrell Owens, who was denied admission in his first year of eligibility. While there is very little argument that T.O. has the numbers on the field to eventually get him inducted in Canton, his perceived attitude on and off the field has rubbed some voters the wrong way and likely helped keep him out this year.
As you can be willing to bet, Owens hasn’t taken the news well and has been complaining about it ever since, wondering how Harrison got in and he didn’t. Now, Marvin is responding and not holding back with his real thoughts on Owens and his complaints:
"“The person who was supposed to get in got in. And that was me. If he didn’t get in, that’s his problem. He can talk all that other bulls— like he’s been doing. That’s on him. But I’m in. My jacket is gold. I will look in the rear view for nobody.“So he can get his ass in whenever he gets in, . . . if he gets in. If he doesn’t get in too bad. The hell with him.”"
So, Harrison won’t be the one introducing T.O. when the latter eventually does enter the Hall. When you look at the numbers, Harrison had more catches in his career, but Owens amassed more yards receiving and scored 25 more touchdowns…so you really can go either way with who is more deserving.
