Andre Drummond falls victim to rim at Madison Square Garden (Video)

Detroit Pistons center Andre Drummond tried to dunk and fell victim to the rim against the New York Knicks.

The rim at Madison Square Garden has began to claim many victims. After it claimed Carmelo Anthony earlier in the week on a missed dunk, it took Detroit Pistons Center Andre Drummond on Saturday night. With the Pistons in a battle with the New York Knicks, Drummond was trying to throw down a one-handed power slam against the Knicks.

Like Anthony, Drummond’s frustration in the paint got him nothing but the rim stuffing him in embarrassing fashion.

Like Anthony, Drummond got blocked so hard by the rim, that he crashed to the floor and landed hard on his back side. While Anthony had a good laugh over the rim getting the best of him, Drummond didn’t find it so funny as he found himself staring up at the lights of Madison Square Garden.

The New York Knicks have been looking for that dominant interior presence ever since Patrick Ewing retired. They might have finally found their interior force in the rim. It’s become clear that anyone that tries to take on the rim at the arena ends up getting knocked down.

If there was an award for “Defensive Rim of the Year,” this one wins easily.
