Kobalt 400 2016: Sprint Cup fantasy picks

Which drivers are the best bet to pick that will give you a lead in your NASCAR fantasy league(s) after the Kobalt 400?

Two races are officially in the books for the NASCAR and both races have certainly been beyond interesting. The Daytona 500 ended with the closest finish in the history of the race, while the Folds of Honor QuikTrip 500 had the longest stretch of green-flag racing in Atlanta Motor Speedway. This week, NASCAR heads to Las Vegas Motor Speedway for the 2016 Kobalt 400.

One of the big questions that fantasy players have on their minds is which drivers should they start this weekend for the Kobalt 400? In accordance with Yahoo’s four-drive fantasy format, these four drivers are easily the best bet heading into Las Vegas this weekend.

Kevin Harvick

Kevin Harvick has had his opportunity to win a race in each of the first two races this season. While he has fallen just short in both races, Harvick has been close to dominant and is a big favorite heading into Sunday. He won his first race of his 2015 season at Las Vegas Motor Speedway and will be one of the contenders at the end of the race again on Sunday.

Kurt Busch

For the second week in a row, Kurt Busch is on the pole. In qualifying, there was not a driver that could come close to his speeds and he is showing that like Harvick, his first win and his spot in the Chase is going to be locked up sooner rather than later.

Kyle Busch

For having some mishaps, Kyle Busch is off to a great start on the season as he looks to defend his Sprint Cup Championship. Busch has finished third in each of the two races this season and Las Vegas is a track that he could pick up his first win at.

Carl Edwards

Carl Edwards might seem like a strange fantasy pick, because he’s starting in the middle of the pack after wrecking in qualifying, but he’s a great pick. Even though he wrecked in qualifying and had to go to a backup car, Edwards was the fastest in practice with the backup car and was en route to a great qualifying before the wreck.
