Most think LeBron James is a lock to return to Cleveland next season, but what if he did test the market?

The safe bet is that LeBron James will re-sign with the Cleveland Cavaliers this off-season and continue his quest to bring an NBA title to his hometown area. However, a return to the Cavs might not be in the superstar’s best interest if he’s looking to win more rings.

There are certainly greener pastures available for King James if he’s willing to hit the road once again. Whereas the Cavs are locked into the core three of Kyrie Irving, Kevin Love and James unless they’re able to deal Love, most NBA franchises will entire Free Agency with tons of cap space. Certainly there are other teams that could construct a more coherent team around James as their cornerstone.

Let’s not forget that James isn’t a young player anymore either. He’s 31-years-old now and he has a lot of NBA miles on his body. It’s not inconceivable to think his game might drop off sharply over the next several seasons. He might not have enough in the tank to drag the Cavaliers over the finish line. To put it bluntly, he may need to return to a situation more like what he had in Miami if he wants to win another title.

Read on to discover five free agent destinations for LeBron that might be more likely to secure him another ring.
