player. 51.
The Rams are an enigma.

The <del>St. Louis</del> Los Angeles franchise enters the 2016 campaign without anything to speak of at the quarterback position, and in a big market, that is even rougher than you might think. Throw in the fact that the Rams parted ways with three high-profile veterans, headlined by Chris Long and James Laurinaitis, and this fan base could use something to get excited about for the future.

Following the “best available player” approach might land the Rams with the best wide receiver in this class in Ole Miss standout Laquon Treadwell, but taking a receiver to pair with these quarterbacks just isn’t fair. Instead, Los Angeles makes a bit of a reach and tabs talented Memphis QB Paxton Lynch as their focal point moving forward.

Lynch is too raw for my taste as a first-round pick, but he is huge, mobile and strong-armed with all of the raw tools that you could ever want. Unfortunately, he should not be deployed as a rookie given his unpolished nature at this point, and that takes a bit of the shine off an investment with a first-round quarterback. However, the Rams can point to a talent, developing quarterback when selling the franchise on a new (and old) city, and Lynch could be a big-time NFL starter if everything goes according to plan.
.
