Myles Jack. 8. player. 59.
The great majority of first round picks seem quite fluid this year, but Myles Jack to the Dolphins is something that I simply can’t quit.

For caveat’s sake, Jack could easily come off the board before the Dolphins have a chance to take him, but if he is available, it seems crazy that Miami would pass on him. The Dolphins have several needs on both sides of the ball, but linebacker is universally accepted as the biggest area of weakness on this roster, and Miami would be getting the player that is viewed as the consensus top linebacker in this class now that Notre Dame’s Jaylon Smith is slipping due to injury concerns.

Jack has injury concerns of his own, to the point where he did not work out at the combine, but he is seen as (much) closer to returning than Smith and the upside of his physical tools is scary. The Dolphins were horrific in rush defense last year and Jack would immediately help that, but what transcends with the former UCLA standout is his speed and ability to be versatile in coverage and with rushing the passer on occasion.

The Dolphins could look to add depth at cornerback or to take the best player available in Oregon defensive end DeForest Buckner, but Myles Jack is a top-five talent if healthy and he fills a need perfectly if Miami passes him medically.
. LB. UCLA
