Rocket League is currently one of the most popular games available for digital download on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and Steam. The basis of the game is simple. Souped up cars are teamed up on each side with a soccer ball in the middle, and two goals to defend. The team that scores the most goals wins. It’s essentially car soccer, and it’s amazing.
With Rocket League’s popularity continuing to grow developers are starting to tease the next step in the franchise. They’ve already made a hockey mode, so logically the next step is Rocket League basketball.

This is the greatest day for basketball video game fans ever. NBA Jam has always been the undisputed champion of arcade basketball, but now cars will take flight as they attempt to steal that crown. Getting up into the air has always been a big part of Rocket League, and now it will be more important than ever with an albeit large rim to shoot through. Looking at the picture it appears they’re keeping the 3-point line which means deadeye shooters could dominate the early game. How this will effect the eSports scene remains unclear, but look for Rocket League matches to be rising up in views on Twitch.
