Phoenix Suns. 2. team. 66.
After a brief surge, the Suns are back to performing miserably. Phoenix began last week with a road win over Memphis (a win that must be accompanied by an asterisk given the current state of the Grizzlies), but back-to-back blowout losses to the Knicks and Nuggets help to reestablish some sense of normalcy.

The Suns are “just” 3-7 in their last 10 games, but that record still comes with a net rating of -12.9 and Earl Watson has appeared relatively clueless at times during his short stint on the bench. Phoenix does have some fun talent, headlined by rookie shooting guard Devin Booker, but that is as kind as I can be when describing what has transpired for most of this season in Arizona.
. 93.
The 13-game losing streak is over.

That is the headline of the week for Brett Brown’s team, even if that victory could not catapult the Sixers out of the league’s basement. It was an impressive win for Philadelphia in that it came without rookie center Jahlil Okafor, and the sheer presence of that victory was enough to force the Nets back into these rankings.

Still, one win isn’t enough to help Philly out of this spot, as the 13-game losing skid basically ensured that the Sixers would post the NBA’s worst record this season. It remains to be seen if the loss of Okafor could be a blessing in disguise for this season’s results, given his lackluster defense, but regardless, the Sixers are in pole position until otherwise noted.
.
