Patrick Peterson reacts to Chandler Jones trade on Twitter

Patrick Peterson is pretty pumped that the Arizona Cardinals traded for Chandler Jones.

The Arizona Cardinals have long needed some consistent pass rushers to generate pressure from the outside. It is something that has hurt the franchise over the past few seasons. With a huge trade today, the Cardinals traded guard Jonathan Cooper and a second round pick to the New England Patriots in exchange for Chandler Jones. Cardinals defensive back Patrick Peterson expressed his joy on social media and held nothing back.

Chandler Jones could be exactly what the Cardinals need to take their game to the next level. They already feature an impressive secondary despite not having much help from the pass rush. Jones was a versatile pass rushing machine for the Patriots this season, being used all over the field with success everywhere. About the only place that Jones didn’t dominate was as a 3-4 defensive end.

Patrick Peterson and the Cardinals secondary should definitely benefit from having Jones generate pressure. A great pass rush can make a bad secondary look good. It can also make a great secondary look even better. With a pass rusher like Jones, expect the Cardinals secondary to be making a ton of plays next year and forcing lots of turnovers.
