FOX Sports reporter and Dancing with the Stars host Erin Andrews thanked her fans for their support during a recent legal case against a Nashville hotel.
For popular television personality Erin Andrews, last week was the end of a long and painful process that has lasted for years following a stalker recording her naked and changing clothes inside a Nashville area hotel room. A jury awarded Andrews $55 million dollars in her civil suit against the Marriott hotel in the city, where she was staying when that stalker recorded her through the peephole on her door.
Wednesday night, Andrews appeared on ABC’s Jimmy Kimmel Live, where the show’s host made a joke about getting a loan from her after the verdict was handed down. Andrews laughed and then thanked those who supported her during the process:
The hotel involved is appealing the decision, meaning that it may be a while before Andrews sees any money as a result of the original verdict. The sportscaster said her privacy was violated when the hotel put the stalker in the room next to her after he asked for them to do so. The video was later posted on the internet, creating a frenzy of humiliation for Andrews and her family.
During the trial, members of Erin Andrews’ family, including her father Steve, testified that she has become more closed off as a result of the incident. Andrews herself gave emotional testimony of how the incident changed her.
