A look at the 2016 March Madness bracket after Saturday’s Second Round games
March Madness 2016 got almost too crazy on Friday at the conclusion of the First Round as it seemed like no higher seed was safe from being upset. With the Second Round getting underway on Saturday with eight games, though, many wondered whether the lower seeds would continue to pull off upsets and continue to have success. That was not so much the case on Saturday.
In the eight Second Round March Madness matchups throughout the day on Saturday, the lower seed was victorious in only two of them. The first was the No. 5 Indiana Hoosiers, who were victorious in a thrilling and historically significant matchup against another great program in the college basketball world, the No. 4 Kentucky Wildcats.
The second upset was a much larger gap between the seeds as the No. 11 Gonzaga Bulldogs came through in a huge way against the No. 3 Utah Utes to the tune of a 23-point victory as they advanced to the Sweet 16. Though they may be a No. 11 seed, the Zags are looking like one of the most dangerous teams in March Madness.
Now that the first eight Second Round games are in the books, let’s take a look at the updated 2016 March Madness bracket to see what Sweet 16 matchups are set and what else could happen going forward.

The matchup in the Sweet 16 between the North Carolina Tar Heels and the Hoosiers is going to be must-watch for anyone who loves basketball. As for Gonzaga, they have a road that seems to suggest they might be on their way to the Elite Eight. We’ll have to see how things play out from there, though.
