5 reasons Lionel Messi should come to MLS

Although unlikely at the moment, here are five reasons for Lionel Messi to transfer to America and Major League Soccer.

Before you push this thought out of your mind and completely disregard it, there are advantages for the Argentinian to move to Major League Soccer at some point.

Obviously, still being in the prime of his career, it is highly unlikely that Messi will come to MLS this summer. It is more likely that he could go to the Premier League or stay at Barcelona, but the move could happen after a couple of years, as it is many footballers that come to America after their career abroad is done.

But Messi could be different. America has been trying to raise the quality of MLS and the country’s overall soccer talent.

Where America has failed and is working to change, is to bring in big names from abroad. When they do bring in big names, they are usually old and burnt out, names like Kaka, Beckham and David Silva.

If they want to change this, they need to bring in big names in the midst of, or at least close to the prime of their career. Here is five reasons why Messi should change this trend.
