Jabari Parker dunks over Rudy Gobert, may have rockets on his feet (Video)
Bucks forward Jabari Parker flew through the lane to put down a huge dunk over Rudy Gobert
Jabari Parker has been a bit of an enigma over his first two NBA seasons with the Milwaukee Bucks. He’s shown flashes of being a superstar caliber player when he’s been on the floor, but the injury bug has also bitten him and flat out had some bad stretches. However, it’s things like what he did to Utah Jazz center Rudy Gobert on Sunday night that leave fans still feeling positive about his potential in the NBA.
Early in the second quarter as the Bucks and Jazz were neck-and-neck still, point guard Tyler Ennis drove baseline to try and draw in the defense. Jazz center and one of the best shot blockers and defenders in the league, Rudy Gobert, didn’t bit on the dribble fully. So when Ennis dished to a cutting Jabari Parker, Gobert was ready to protect the rim. That didn’t matter at all, though, because Parker took flight and went right over the Frenchman to throw down an enormous dunk:
Whoa there! That’s definitely not your run of the mill driving into the middle of the lane dunk. Once you get past the fact that Jabari Parker almost tore the rim down with that massive jam, there’s also the fact that he’s doing it over a defensive player best described as an alien made of mostly limbs and put on the earth to deter shots at the rim.
This might be one of the dark horse candidates for dunk of the year in the NBA at this point, so at least Jabari and the Bucks have that going for them after a largely disappointing season.
