Can Alfred Morris have a bounce back season this year?

We take a look at this and more about where Alfred Morris may play next year and what his value might be. Morris was almost a forgotten commodity with the Redskins this past season. He scattered in a few decent games here and there, but mostly the back was left on the waiver wire in most of the leagues that I played in last season. Some of his numbers dipped that past season, but I don’t think that he is out of gas or reaching decline.

Morris will be entering his fifth season and has been a very consistent runner. He has played in all 16 games of his four-year career and other than this past season has always had a nice nose for the end zone. The ideal place for Morris would be a coach that believes in ground and pound mentality as he has never been a guy who has been utilized in the passing game. He did have one season with 26 targets and 17 catches which is not completely terrible. If he could learn and be a decent pass blocker he could possibly raise his value in PPR leagues.

With that said Morris has obviously always been a more revered guy in standard scoring leagues as opposed to PPR leagues where points are awarded for passes caught. I feel like Morris could possibly stand to sharpen his passing game skills and not only raise his fantasy league value, but also raise his value for the real league.

Morris could wind up being a very under-rated guy heading into this coming fantasy football season and could be a sneaky guy to target in your dynasty leagues as well. The Cowboys are kicking the tires on the back and could very well take him for a test drive and sign him to a short prove yourself type of contract. If Morris was to be running behind that offensive line I would be very interested come draft day.

I am not super crazy about him as he has seemed to decline every year since his rookie campaign, but I am certainly intrigued. I will not be drafting him very early, but if everyone remains down on him I do think that he will have some ability to have a bit of a bounce back season. I can easily see him as a solid flex play and a very nice bye week replacement. I like him in the RB3/4 range and with his ability to find the end zone I think he could sneak into the RB2 discussion.
