Henrikh Mkhitaryan has indicated he’s not interested in playing for Liverpool or Jurgen Klopp.

Liverpool took a tumble in the Barclay’s Premier League this weekend by giving up a lead to Southampton, but eyes remain on the future for a club that seems to be on their way up. The Reds slipped down to ninth in the table after the loss, and this lost season has fans oddly hopefully for the future thanks to the clout that manager Jurgen Klopp has with potential transfer players.

There are already rumors about Klopp targeting Barcelona youth star Sergio Gomez as well as Javier Hernandez, which has everyone excited about what the future holds at Anfield. Not everyone is thrilled about making a move to play for Klopp though, and that extends to former players of his around Europe.

Dortmund star Henrikh Mkhitaryan is among those players not so willing to uproot their lives to play for Klopp.

While he didn’t explicitly say that he wouldn’t play for Klopp and Liverpool, he didn’t make it sound like he misses his former manager at Dortmund.

"“With Klopp, he was a football madman: pressure and counter-attack. Instead, [Thomas] Tuchel has changed our lives. Now we command the game and I have more freedom to attack. Thanks to him I now make myself more useful.”"

That’s not a definitive throwing of the shade at Klopp, but it’s about as damned close as you can get without actually devastating the guy.

Liverpool will be looking to get some serious upgrades in the transfer market this year, as Klopp’s presence means that this is a new look Reds squad. Already he has helped mildly turn their season around despite the fact that they’re unlikely to clinch a Champions League slot or even a Europa League slot.
