TNT reporter Craig Sager says his leukemia has returned

Legendary TNT reporter Craig Sager announced on Monday that his leukemia has returned

There’s arguably no one in the business of broadcasts, specifically in regards to sideline reporting, as well respected and talented as the great Craig Sager. However, the TNT sideline reporter has been in and out of his post over the past few years due to his battle with leukemia. It was announced last year that his cancer had returned for the first time, but it seemed that he had beaten the disease as of late.

Unfortunately, the news took a turn for the worse on Monday as Sager told Bernard Goldberg in an upcoming HBO interview that his cancer was no longer in remission and that he would not be undergoing a third stem cell transplant, which Sager called “uncharted waters” in regards to his treatment:

Not just because of his wild and colorful suits but also because he’s one of the legitimate best at his jobs, this is terrible to hear regarding Craig Sager. Seeing him interact with coaches like San Antonio Spurs lead man Gregg Popovich and with all of the players around the league is one of the best things about TNT’s coverage.

Without question, I think anyone who has ever seen him on TNT would join us in wishing him another recovery and one that sticks this time around.
