Houston Rockets guard James Harden made an errant pass late to Dwight Howard against the Oklahoma City Thunder.

The Houston Rockets are trying to hold onto a playoff spot in the Western Conference in a season where they never thought they’d be in the position that they were in. James Harden and Dwight Howard have had their issues and late in the game against the Oklahoma City Thunder, Harden didn’t make things any better when he threw a costly pass to Howard, which proved to be their final downfall.

As Howard was cutting to the hoop, Harden threw an errant pass that Howard was in no position to grab and the turnover ended up costing the Rockets a game against Oklahoma City that they needed to win to strengthen their playoff chances.

Things between the two sides are probably going to lead to Howard leaving in the off-season, which won’t be a shocker, but to see a team that was on the precipice of something special go down like this certainly is a shame to see. Harden was actually having a good night passing the ball and dished out 16 assists to his teammates.

Assist attempt No. 17 didn’t go so well, unfortunately.
