LeBron James was none too pleased with the Cavs’ defense in their loss to the Nets on Thursday

The Cleveland Cavaliers are seemingly stuck in a perpetual state of trying to hit their stride this season and, given the quality of their opponent, doing so on Thursday night against the Brooklyn Nets seemed like as good of a time as any to really get that process started. However, that was far from the case and an already seemingly disgruntled LeBron James was made even unhappier.

LeBron put forth a masterful effort against the often hapless Nets as he put up 30 points on 81 percent shooting (yes, 81 freaking percent) from the floor. However, his Cavaliers teammates failed to deliver on both ends of the floor, particularly on defense where they were blown by and lacking effort on numerous occasions. On two such occasions, LeBron visibly displayed his frustration with his Cavs teammates:

That does not look like a guy who is enjoying playing basketball right now—at all.

While it’s fair to say that it has to be frustrating for LeBron to quite literally be trying to put the team on his back in a game where that shouldn’t even be necessary and his teammates aren’t helping him out in the slightest, seeing James react like this on the floor is quite curious considering all of the rumblings as of late that he might be leaving Cleveland after this season.

Who knows where this Cavaliers team ends up this season or where LeBron ends up after this season. All we can say now after seeing things like this is that there is definite room for improvement in terms of performance and morale in Cleveland right now.
