High Salary PG

Stephen Curry-Golden State Warriors (10,600): In an unsurprising development, Curry shook off his shooting slump and scored 33 points against the Clippers on Wednesday totaling 50.3 fantasy points on 33 points, five assists, four rebounds, and three steals.  His fantasy production was still pretty good even when his scoring dipped a bit since his non-scoring numbers have been so strong.  He has at least 45 fantasy points in four of his last five games dating back to his last matchup against the Mavericks who he faces again tonight.  In Dallas, Curry had 31 points, ten assists, and nine rebounds for a robust 59.8 fantasy points. He makes a great big-money option at PG tonight based on match and his return to form. There have been some rumblings about getting Curry a rest night, so double-check his status before tonight’s game, but as long as he plays he’s a good investment.

John Wall-Washington Wizards (9,700): Wall had an off scoring night on Wednesday finishing with just 13 points to go with his ten assists, three boards, two steals, and a block for only 30.6 fantasy points against the Hawks.  He lit up Atlanta in their first meeting of the week with 51.6 fantasy points on 27 points and 14 assists. Before Wednesday’s letdown, Wall had at least 44 fantasy points in four straight including a pair of triple-doubles against the Bulls and Sixers.  Since Russell Westbrook is taking the night off, Wall is the way to go for triple-double potential and he’s in a wonderful matchup against the T-Wolves who allow the third-most fantasy points in the NBA to opposing PG. Wall may not have the ceiling that Steph does, but he should end up with another very nice stat line tonight and will save you almost 1,000 in salary. I’d take Curry if you can have either one, but if you need the money elsewhere Wall is a solid Curry-alternative.

Rajon Rondo-Sacramento Kings (7,800): Rondo is dealing with multiple injuries as the Kings come down the stretch, but he’s considered probable for tonight in a great matchup against the Suns who haven’t stopped any PG all season. Rondo is coming off a huge game where he picked up some of the scoring slack with DeMarcus Cousins out and finished with 25 points and 12 assists while adding eight rebounds and three steals for good measure.  He finished that game with 52.6 fantasy points, so his ceiling is remarkably high since he produces in so many categories. However, injuries are still a bit of a concern, and Cousins will be back to carry the load on offense. As a result, Rondo is a boom-or-bust play in the desert tonight with attractive upside for someone so affordable.

Ricky Rubio-Minnesota Timberwolves (7,100): Rubio scored in single digits for just the second time in his last nine games on Wednesday against Rondo and the Kings.  He still managed 34 fantasy points since he has 12 assists, three steals, and five rebounds.  He has at least that many fantasy points in five of his last six games and is playing well coming down the stretch.  Tonight, he gets a good matchup with John  Wall and the Wizards who have been getting involved in a lot of high-scoring shootouts lately. The T-Wolves and Wizards are a great early game that should be stuffed with fantasy potential, and I think Rubio will be able to put together another nice stat line.

Goran Dragic-Miami Heat (6,700): Dragic has a miserable game against the Spurs on Wednesday with just four points and four assists while turning the ball over six times.  Prior to that performance he had run off three straight games of over 36 fantasy points against the Hornets, Cavs, and Pelicans.  Tonight, against the Magic, I expect Dragic to bounce back in big way especially since he hit Orlando up for 22 points, six boards, four assists, and a steal in his first game against them this season.

Deron Williams-Dallas Mavericks (6,100): Dallas is having to ride their veterans hard as they push for the playoffs resulting in big minutes for both Deron and Dirk.  Williams played 43 minutes on Sunday against Portland and then 39 minutes on Wednesday in the second part of their home-and-home.  He had double-doubles in each game with 59.6 fantasy points on Sunday with 31 points and 16 assists and another 31.1 fantasy points on Wednesday on 12 points and 11 assists.  Williams is a little risky tonight against the Warriors since the game may not be close, but if it is close he’ll end up playing a big role in the Mavericks offense once again.

Emmanuel Mudiay-Denver Nuggets (6,000): Mudiay hit the game-winner against the 76ers on Wednesday, and he spent the whole night terrorizing them from every perspective.  Mudiay had 27 points, 11 rebounds, and four assists in his 42 minutes finishing with 47.2 fantasy points. Tonight, he’ll be in a matchup against fellow-rookie D’Angelo Russell as he faces the Lakers who have allowed the second-most fantasy points in the NBA to opposing PG. Mudiay has 22 points, seven rebounds, an four assists against the Lakers when the Nuggets beat them early this month which has proven to be the best of Mudiay’s career as he has averaged 17.5 points, 5.1 assists, and 4.3 rebounds per game while playing 30+ minute almost every night.  His offense can still come and go a bit, but he’s getting the run and has the potential for a big game in a good matchup tonight.
