NBA Playoffs 2016: Clippers clinch with win over Grizzlies
By Josh Hill
The Los Angeles Clippers have punched their ticket to the NBA Playoffs.
We have a few weeks left in the NBA regular season, but teams are starting to punch their playoff tickets and prepare for a potential title run.
The latest of those teams is the Los Angeles Clippers. Doc Rivers and company used Sunday’s win over the Grizzlies to solidify their spot in the postseason out West.
Here’s a look at the updated NBA Playoff Bracket after the Clippers clinched on Sunday.
There’s still a lot that can happen in the final weeks of the season. Over in the East, we’ve seen the Bulls and Pistons go back and forth in flipping the No. 8 seed, while there has been movement between the Heat, Hawks and Celtics for control of the No. 3 seed.
Perhaps the most thrilling race is at the bottom of the Western Conference, where the Jazz have finally crept their way into the playoff picture and are hoping to hold off the Mavericks in a bid to clinch a surprise berth. Utah was close to contending last year but fell short, and unlike the Suns of a few years ago, they haven’t followed that bid up by falling back.
There are still two weeks left in the NBA season, so nothing is set in stone. But the Clippers are at least in the postseason and are one step closer to possibly winning a title that will end decades of shame.
