Karl-Anthony Towns is a very big man. He is also a very fast man for his size. That presents a problem for NBA defenders trying to slow him down as the Phoenix Suns learned on Monday night. Poor Jon Leuer was asked to defend a Town isolation from the elbow, which won’t work the vast majority of the time. It didn’t on Monday either, as Towns blew right by Leuer and headed to the rim. At the rim was Mirza Teletovic who thought he could slow down Towns and prevent and easy bucket.
He was wrong. Very, very, very wrong.

That is incredibly mean. Poor Mirza stood no chance. Somehow Towns is just 20 years old meaning the NBA will be dealing with plays like this for a long time. Soon enough defenders won’t be making the same mistake Teletovic did on this play.
Until then KAT is going to continue to get his yarn (h/t Zach Harper. We are going to make this happen.)
