Dwight Howard has never been someone well known for his ability to drop a pass, but maybe that’s because he hasn’t gotten too many chances to showcase the skill. Usually his job after rebounds is to find the nearest ball handler and hand it to them, but this time Howard saw a streaking Michael Beasley and decided to take the chance on a deep ball. The result was spectacular.

This is beautiful basketball. Beasley leaked out just enough to get in front of both Cavs defenders, and then Howard showed the quick awareness to hit him on the pass. More impressive might have been the pass itself from Howard. It was a perfect dime from a player not known for doing so. With how much of a bummer this Houston Rockets season is maybe they should try letting Howard do this more often.
