Lakers point guard D’Angelo Russell has apologized for secretly recording teammate Nick Young’s admittance of affairs.

The NBA has been set ablaze over the last 24 hours, after a video leaked of Los Angeles Lakers forward Nick Young talking about the other relationships that he has besides the one with Iggy Azalea, whom he is engaged to. The video was recorded by Lakers rookie D’Angelo Russell and in the video he tries to get Young to admit to more while being recorded.

Since then, more and more stories have been coming out how about members of the Lakers have been avoiding Russell and there’s been instances on the court where they flat out refuse to pass to him. Athletes across the board have come out and ripped Russell to shreds for secretly videotaping his teammate and it feels like the trust is gone between the Lakers and their rookie.

Speaking to Adrian Wojnarowski’s The Vertical Podcast, Russell feels sick about what he did and is very sorry for recording his teammate.

"“I am sick,” Russell told The Vertical by phone on his drive to the Staples Center on Wednesday. “I am sorry about recording the video. I can’t repeat myself enough on that: I am sorry I recorded that video. I feel horrible. I wish this never happened.”"

Russell would further own responsibility for the incident and didn’t know exactly how the video got out. He would tell Wojnarowski that he and Young are filming each other doing dumb things all the time and that’s just their friendship.

Whether or not the 20-year-old rookie will continue to be ostracized by his teammates remain to be seen. There’s absolutely no excuse for what Young did, by cheating while in a relationship, which has really made this whole drama even worse for the Lakers, who are trying to rebuild the franchise and show that they are a stable franchise for top stars to come and play in.

This is an extremely interesting incident, because it seems that almost everyone is against Russell, while almost no one is talking about what Young did. This story will only continue to grow as it plays out.
