Could Lucha Underground be close to striking a deal with the Hulu streaming service?

Lucha Underground is one of the hottest things going in professional wrestling now as there’s quite literally no other wrestling show or product like it on the market. However, the curious thing about Lucha Underground has been that they aren’t as widely accessible as other wrestling shows as it airs on El Rey Network. That could be on the verge of changing is a huge way, though.

According to a report by Wrestling Inc., Lucha Underground is nearing a deal with one of the most popular streaming services on the market: Hulu. The reports says that this deal with Hulu would be for two seasons of the show with Hulu having the option for a third season after the initial two-season run.

For some time, there were reported talks happening between Lucha Underground and Netflix for an exclusive streaming deal. However, plans seemed to have change and Hulu seems to be in the driver’s seat to snatch up this deal.

It shouldn’t come as much of a surprise that Hulu would be willing to get into business with Lucha Underground considering their past dealings with WWE and streaming their programming. They seemingly know the value and popularity of quality wrestling shows and understand that there is a market for such things.

However, the more important thing is that this deal would get many more eyes on Lucha Underground. Not only could that help create more fans of the show, but it would also almost surely help give the show more funding for future seasons, allowing them to further improve the show.

For Lucha Underground fans, this is a major development—and that’s good news for the company and for wrestling fans.
