Despite the fact that the Golden State Warriors are on their way to a potentially record-breaking regular season, not everything has gone as planned for the defending champions. For most of the season, the Warriors have been without backup center Festus Ezeli, who was supposed to be an important part of the Golden State rotation before getting injured again in late January. While Golden State seemingly expects Ezeli to be back before the end of the playoffs, the rest of his teammates took a chance to have a little fun with the big man in an early April Fools’Day prank.

That has to be absolutely awful for Ezeli, as Golden State had plenty of important people involved in the joke. To get Stephen Curry, Draymond Green, Luke Walton and others to text Ezeli like he was actually cut is incredibly mean and Ezeli does seem to really believe the hoax. Even after Andre Iguodala jumps out to tell him it was a prank, Ezeli seems kind of angry and upset and it is hard to blame him.

That said when you are on your way to 73 wins and another NBA title I guess you can get away with these type of things. Even if they are very mean.
