Somewhere on a beach, New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady has called for his wide receivers to assemble. Both Julian Edelman and Danny Amendola have.

It maybe well into the NFL offseason, but from some distant ocean paradise New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady does his best impersonation of the legendary anchorman Ron Burgundy and summons his wide receiver corps by blowing into a conch shell: “New England Patriots RECEIVERS…ASSEMBLE!!!”

Burgundy would probably approve of Brady’s usage of the conch shell, believing it to be “simply majestic.” The first two responders were naturally Brady’s two favorite slot receivers in Julian Edelman and Danny Amendola, pretending to be first responders decked out in law enforcement garb.

Edelman and Amendola have matching police uniforms, matching haircuts, and matching aviator sunglasses as they sprint down what looks like an alleyway in sunny San Diego. Again, Burgundy would approve.

A few seconds later, they are doing the very best to eat chocolate-covered glazed donuts in a police car in a single bite. Frankly, Edelman does a far better job of devour said donuts in a single bite than does Amendola.

While not technically a wide receiver, perhaps Patriots All-Pro tight end Rob Gronkowski is at sea on some distant voyage and was unable to hear Brady’s calling via conch shell. Now that Gronkowski is on Instagram, maybe a response to Brady’s summons is on the horizon for the venerable Patriots tight end?
