Could this be the new design of the WWE Women’s Championship?
On Sunday at WrestleMania 32, Charlotte will defend the WWE Divas Championship against Sasha Banks and Becky Lynch. This match is going to represent the Divas division that has been on the rise since July 2015. This was when Charlotte, Banks, and Lynch received a call-up from NXT to the main roster. Nine months later, they are battling at the Show of Shows.
During this time, there have been many questions asked on if WWE will ever remove the word “Divas” from their vocabulary. It’s a bit of an out-dated term that doesn’t represent the women well. Naming the former WWE Women’s Championship the Divas Championship a few years ago didn’t help things.
On Wednesday, word started getting out that WWE planned on retiring the Divas Championship on the Raw after WrestleMania. They are set to replace it with the Women’s Championship and call their female talents women again. NXT already does this and has received plenty of praise from fans.
As for the design of this new belt, there seems to be a possible image of it that has leaked online. A look at it can be seen below.

This is a sleek design that isn’t an eye-sore like the butterfly look of the Divas Championship. It also looks somewhat like the WWE World Heavyweight Championship.
The new belt possibly being unveiled on Monday would be a big moment for WWE. Their perception of women will be seen in a greater light compared to the Divas moniker.
