Dwyane Wade will likely miss the Miami Heat‘s game on Saturday against the Portland Trail Blazers.

Miami is in a fight with the Atlanta Hawks for the Southeast Division title, but they are taking a hit on Saturday with shooting guard Dwyane Wade likely out against the Portland Trail Blazers, according to ESPN.

Wade missed Friday’s game with back and neck issues and is still trying to recover. Wade has not been overly durable in recent seasons but remains the most important cog to the Heat machine, averaging a team-best 19.2 points per game. Wade talked about the injury, hoping to come back soon, per ESPN.

"“There’s nothing I can do except take it one step at a time, because it’s not just my back. It’s my back and my neck. [It’s] equally bad. When I feel like I can move around, do things I need to do, I will jump back out there.”"

Miami is desperate to stay in the No. 3 seed for a few reasons. The Heat are currently matching up against the Boston Celtics and then would likely see the Toronto Raptors in the second round. If they fall to the fourth seed in the Eastern Conference playoffs, they would see the Cleveland Cavaliers and LeBron James come the semifinals.

Wade has played in 68 games this season, giving him a chance to play in 70 for the first time since the 2010-11 campaign.
