Garrett Richards will never forget this epic April Fools prank

In case you missed it, yesterday was April Fools. All around the world, millions of people were being trolled by terrible jokes. If you were one of the lucky ones who were able to miss out on a few of them, I applaud you. When professional sports teams get involved, things can get very interesting. When athletes can trick their teammates it makes the day worth it, especially if it goes viral.

Mike Trout of the Angels loves to have fun with his teammates. While he doesn’t enjoy bat flips, Trout enjoys putting his teammates through awkward situations. He capitalized on an opportunity and put pitcher Garrett Richards in one of the most uncomfortably hilarious moments of his life. Thanks to the people at PrankvsPrank, Trout and a few teammates put Richards in a position to make it seem like he ruined a relationship that was supposed to be an engagement.

Everything was set up perfectly. A normal girl talking to some MLB players, while Richards giving real advice. I’m sure Angels fans have come up to the 27-year old righty many times. The look on his face when he realizes that the girl the guy proposing to is the one who talked to him earlier about breaking it off was hilarious. He knew right away that he made a terrible mistake. The funny thing was, he was still recording everything on the guy’s phone. Richards had no idea what to do.

As cruel as the joke was, it was all fun and games. Richards didn’t seem mad (maybe off camera he got Trout back), and played it off really well. I’m sure Trout and company will never let Richards forget this moment. The team will probably watch it over and over during off days in order to get loose.
