The Minnesota Twins will send starting pitcher Ervin Santana to the mound for his first career Opening Day Start. After testing positive for PEDs, Santana went 7-5 with a 4.00 ERA. He threw 108 innings in 17 starts. Over his last seven games, he threw at least seven innings while allowing two or fewer earned runs in each game. The Twins hope that momentum will carry over to this season as Santana will lead their rotation.

Baltimore will send Chris Tillman to the mound. Tillman is coming off the worst full season of his career. He had a 4.99 ERA in 31 games pitched. Tillman threw 173 innings last season, striking out 120 while walking 64. He is just a season removed from having a 3.34 ERA. The Orioles are hoping that Tillman resembles his 2014 self more than his 2015 self.
