Greg Hardy wants you to know that he’s never violently abused any women he’s violently abused.
Greg Hardy looked to be the next big defensive star in the NFL when the ‘Kraken’ was released in Carolina. But a domestic abuse charge in his final year with the Panthers soiled that and he remains unemployed as the 2016 season approaches. Hardy was accused of violently abusing his ex-girlfriend and throwing her onto a bed of loaded guns back in 2014 — something he was charged with but not convicted of.
The whole reason that he wasn’t convicted is murky, as many believe that the victim witnesses were paid off. But that hasn’t restored Hardy’s reputation and he’s doing his best to burp up the glue he’s eaten all over himself. In a recent interview with ESPN’s Adam Schefter, Hardy boldly claims to have never in his life laid a finger on a woman in a violent way.
In the interview, Hardy says he’s innocent of anything he’s been accused of.
"“I’ve never put my hand on ANY women … In my whole entire life, No Sir. That’s just not how we’re raised. As you can tell, like I said again, it’s the Bible belt. It’s just something that’s, I wouldn’t even say frowned upon, just something that’s nonexistent in most southern homes.”"
The brutal pictures that we saw of his ex-girlfriend beg to differ. Those photos showed Hardy’s victim battered and badly bruised from something he was accused of doing.
Hardy is trying to get a job in the NFL and this isn’t going to help. All he needed to do was keep his mouth shut in Dallas, play hard and the salty forgiving world of sports would have moved on. But he couldn’t do that, and now he’s continuing to not do that by jamming his foot even further down his mouth.
It’s not like hardy had many fans before this, but the man is scorched earth now — and no one really feels bad for him.
