NBA Rumors: Mike Conley out for rest of the season and playoffs
Mike Conley will miss the remainder of the season with an Achilles injury.
The Memphis Grizzlies are in the midst of a six-game losing streak and are in danger of falling out of a playoff spot in the tightly-contested bottom half of the Western Conference. With two of the last five games against the Golden State Warriors, along with one against the Los Angeles Clippers, this is the worst time to have anything but a roster at full strength.
The Grizzlies have been dealing with injuries all season, which has led to the struggles they have faced as of late. Mike Conley has been dealing with Achilles tendonitis for the last few weeks, and his name is attached to some bad news for the Grizzlies organization and fans alike.
A report has come out stating that Conley will miss not only the rest of the regular season, but any potential playoff games as well.
Conley is a free agent this summer, but the Grizzlies are expected to re-sign him when the time comes. Shutting him down in the first place shows the team wants to ensure he does not push it too hard in a season where the Warriors and the San Antonio Spurs should be competing for the Western Conference title once the playoffs begin.
