Seattle Mariners second baseman Robinson Cano hit a home run in his first at-bat of the season.

When the Seattle Mariners signed Robinson Cano to a $240 million contract, he had a disappointing first season for him and the Mariners, as he failed to put together the production worthy of such a gigantic investment.

In 2016, Cano is looking to get the Mariners back on the winning side of things and in his very first at-bat of the season, Cano took the Texas Rangers deep and hit home run right out to right field to get the Mariners on the board.

It was the very first Opening Day home run during Cano’s career. To make things even more optimistic, Cano only had one home run in his first 47 games last year. With this home run, he’s already on pace to get off to a much better start than last year.

If the Mariners are going to see a turnaround with their franchise this year, then Cano has to put the team on his back offensively. He’s off to a great start thus far. In the second inning, Kyle Seager would follow Cano’s lead and crush one of his own.
